Today I woke up at 3:30 am and got picked up by the others to leave for Montreal. We stopped at a place called Wallingford Back Mine to go explore, however our car couldn’t make it up a hill about a kilometer away, so we parked at a little church and then walked up. I was about a 10 min walk to the road where the mine was, but when we got there, we saw that the road hadn’t been plowed and there was about 2 ft of snow on the road. The others didn’t think it was doable, but I was determined to see the mine as it was supposed to look insanely cool inside and you could skate in it, so I started trudging through the snow. I walk for about 30 mins through the snow, which progressively got deeper, until I could see the mine. I tried to get to it, but by that point the snow was waist deep and I could’t get through it. I got 50 ft away until I couldn’t get forward anymore and then turned back. Manny (who decided to join me later after I left) trudged back to the car and then we drove to Montreal and went to our Airbnb. Not everything goes the way you want it to.
